The day job is doing a supervised ward round from 9-5, with patients being constantly turned over and moved to different wards with or without your knowledge, which can be unsafe.
Seniors are mostly supportive and lovely, but it can be overbearing that you don't make any proper decision regarding patient management.
The rota is awful and you can end up covering a 20 patient ward round as well as covering either the crash bleep or hospital at home bleep and often workload during on calls are horrendous and can lead to burn out.
It is also difficult to take study leave
